HANDY-LADY-HANDBOOK

 DIY Gift Tags
*My friend Rocío surprised all of us with these very original gift tags. Instead of writing somebody's name on their present, just crop and print a funny photo of them and attach it to their present. As you can see it also works as a tree ornament.

CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE FACE

Chamomile Tea for Puffy Eyes
* Whenever I wake up with puffy eyes from a bad night's sleep, I use chamomile tea to reduce the swelling. Place the tea bags in hot water. When the tea has steeped, remove the bags and let the tea cool off a bit. Soak two cotton balls in the tea and place them over your eyes. Meanwhile, place the remaining tea in the refrigerator. After the cotton balls have cooled, squeeze them in the sink and soak them in cold tea from the fridge. Place over eyes again for a couple of minutes.

HOLIDAY MUST HAV'S

THE WELL KNOWN, LITTLE BLACK DRESS...

*I have to admit, I love wearing black; and even though this winter is all about wearing bold colors, there is always enough space in the closet for that little black, classic dress. Here are my FAV black pieces:

MUST HAV'S: Christmas Party

* 5 things you MUST HAVE in your Christmas Party:

1. This easy DIY 'Pucker Up' ornament is the new 'mistletoe'. Just grab any leftover ornament, cover it in a festive-looking fabric, wrap with a rubber band, and use a ribbon to suspend and decorate.
2. A centerpiece makes your table look appropriate for the occasion, instead of looking bland and boring.
3. Use any empty glass container and fill it up with holiday-friendly candy! You can never go wrong with sweets!
4. A poinsettia plant is a great addition to your home in the Holidays. They're cheap and you can find them in any supermarket or convenience store of your choice.
5. Baked goods always bring joy! My favorite are Guava Thumbprint Cookies.

Mariana's Tips for a Superb Hot Chocolate

I love making Hot Chocolate in the winter-time. This year I bought a GODIVA milk chocolate-hot cocoa mix (but you can buy any mix; they're available in all sort of brands). Here are a couple of tips on how to make an ordinary hot chocolate mix into an extraordinary drink! (Feel free to combine tips but don't do all of them at the same time! Lol.)

1. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract for every cup of milk.
2. Add a pinch of salt to bring out the flavor of the chocolate.
3. Use marshmallows, whipped cream or cool whip as a topping.
4. Drop a piece of cheddar cheese in your hot cocoa cup.
5. Drop a cinnamon stick in your hot cocoa before serving.
